In spite of being a world-class performer, Mic prides himself on being a teacher
first. With an innate ability to connect personally with any audience, Mic has
educated and entertained hundreds of college, high school, and middle school
musicians and their families, as well as master class audiences of professional
musicians.
In a clinic situation, Mic works with jazz bands and individual musicians to not only improve their playing, but also their awareness of music, their appreciation of the gift of music, and their joy in playing their instrument.
Mic covers important subjects such as ensemble blending, sound and tonal production, i.e. air supply, musical “feel”, and performance skills. Mic often performs with the musicians in an evening concert following
the clinic. Ask about this for your group.
The Berklee School of Music, the University of Missouri, Chabot College, Cabrillo College, and hundreds of other schools, drum and bugle corps, music camps, and musical organizations have hosted these special events with Mic.
