Mic Gillette is the world-renowned trumpet and trombone player who has appeared on countless CDs and record albums, spanning five decades, for some of the biggest names in the business, including a dozen members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Mighty Micster is best known for 40+ years of stellar horns work with Cold Blood, Tower of Power, and the Sons of Champlin. But not as many people realize that he has appeared on countless albums and CDs for some of the biggest names in the music business--Santana, The Rolling Stones, Quincy Jones, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Jefferson Starship, Huey Lewis and the News, and numerous others. Mic also enjoyed brief stints with Blood, Sweat & Tears and The Fundamentals, an R&B/Motown band.
An original member of the legendary Tower of Power Horn Section, Mic has also established an enviable reputation for his work with youth and school bands. In particular, his affinity for working with middle school and high school students has endeared him to a whole new generation of fans in the 21st century. Mic's Music in Schools Program
Mic Gillette is well-known for his many years of enthusiastically supporting and promoting music programs in the schools. Now Mic has launched an official program, Mic Gillette Music in Schools, to support school music programs by offering clinics to bands and orchestras and other music programs at schools around the country. To help defray the costs of these clinics and thereby increase Mic's ability to give back to the kids, Mic is offering three apparel items for sale in support of the Music in Schools program.

Mic and Tower of Power: Back to the Future
After a 25-year hiatus, Mic has returned to his old band and currently is touring with the mighty Tower of Power. In addition to Mic, the current members of Tower of Power are vocalist Larry Braggs, drummer David Garibaldi, keyboardist Roger Smith, bass guitarist Francis Rocco Prestia, guitarist Jerry Cortez, trumpeter Adolfo Acosta, baritone saxophonist Stephen MacKenzie "The Funky Doctor" Kupka, saxophonist Tom E. Politzer, and bandleader Emilio Castillo.
